- Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water
- Coconut water is much more than just your average, trendy beverage. It’s loaded with good-for-the-body and good-for-the-skin things like skin-moisturizing sugars, skin-nourishing amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and phytohormones. Your skin’s going to love a drink of this.
- Helichrysum Arenarium Hydrosol Water
- Hydrosols are also known as “floral waters” and this one comes from bright little flowers named for the sun. Let it help you shine, too! Helichrysum hydrosol is known for its toning and cleansing properties to help brighten your skin. And it might brighten your mood, too, with its herby floral aroma and subtle honey-like and earthy undertones.
- Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Hydrosol Water
- Camellia Sinensis has been used and revered as a therapeutic, medicinal, beneficial plant for nearly 5,000 years. Pause and reflect on that – 5,000 years. That has to be testament to a plant with incredible powers, right? As a hydrosol, Green Tea easily and quickly absorbs into the skin providing moisturization without feeling oily. On a broader beauty level, it contains hard-to-find antioxidants like EGCG (Epigallocatechin gallate) and a high content of polyphenols called Catechins, both of which show excellent free-radical scavenging activity – making green tea a mighty multitasker when it comes to your skin.
- Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract
- Whether or not you’re a fan of the candy, we’re pretty sure you’re going to love the benefits of licorice root extract. It’s packed with a variety of beneficial compounds that do everything from brightening lackluster skin to balancing skin tone and providing soothing effects. It also contains glycyrrhizin, a powerful antioxidant that’s also the acid responsible for making licorice taste sweet. Treat your skin to some of nature’s candy!
- 1,3 Propanediol
- 1,3 Propanediol may sound strange and chemical-y, but don’t judge an ingredient by its name. (You wouldn’t with a person, right?) It’s simply a plant-based replacement for petroleum-based glycols such as propylene glycol and butylene glycol. And it acts as a moisturizer, skin conditioner, and preservative booster. Thank you, green chemistry.
- Niacinamide (B3)
- Like that charming friend of yours who gets along with everyone (or maybe that’s you?), niacinamide is special because of its versatility for almost any skin type or issue. Its superpowers lie in the fact that it works with the natural substances in your skin to help provide cellular protection against daily assaults and to help visibly minimize damage.
- Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola) Extract
- Gotu kola (aka “the herb of longevity”) has been a staple in traditional Chinese, Indonesian, and Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. Practitioners have used it for everything from mental rejuvenation, as an aphrodisiac, and as an extender of life (thus, the name). Fun fact: a Chinese herbalist named Li Ching-Yun used it regularly and some say he lived to the age of 197 years old. That might be a stretch of the imagination, but there’s no harm in entertaining the thought that it could help combat the effects of time. And actually, in regards to skin care products it’s most known for is its ability to improve blood circulation, which helps speed up the skin's healing and rejuvenation process – which is a little bit like turning back time, right?
- Organic Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) Oil
- Known as “the tree of life” and “pharmacy tree” in Africa because of its many beneficial uses, the baobab tree’s seeds contain a silky, luxurious oil that’s a true skincare superhero. Baobab oil is packed with nourishing fatty acids and Vitamins A, D, E, and F which work in beautiful harmony to help soften, hydrate, moisturize, and rejuvenate skin. Plus, it absorbs easily, penetrates deeply, and doesn’t clog pores – making it a dream for all skin types. (Seriously, your skin is probably dreaming of it right now.)
- Populus Tremuloides (Aspen) Bark Extract
- The bark of the Aspen tree is rich in salicylates that are a part of the tree’s natural defense system against invading parasites. And the same properties that make salicylates effective at protecting the tree also help protect body care products from bacteria and other pathogens – it’s a natural preservative. And it doesn’t quit there. Historically, the salicylates in Aspen bark have also been used for medicinal purposes, and today it’s used to help soothe, smooth, and condition skin. A warrior and a shaman in one.
- Mel (Manuka Honey) Extract
- All honey is not created equal. And Manuka honey is nectar fit for the gods. It’s made by the honeybees that feed off the exotic Manuka bush that’s native to the secluded New Zealand countryside. Those hard working honeybees create a unique nectar that contains compounds with distinctive beneficial properties when compared to most honey – like the extract, a powerful humectant to hydrate and calm skin.
- Lactobacillus Ferment
- Lactobacillus ferment is a form of probiotic, the sweetheart of health foods. You probably know that probiotics in your yogurt and kombucha can help balance your gut, but did you know it can also calm and comfort skin? We love ingredients that can help ignite your natural glow inside and out. True beauty comes from within.
- Hydroxyethylcellulose
- Yes, it’s a mouthful to say, but hydroxy-ethyl-cellulose (not as hard to pronounce when you break it down) is simply a gelling and thickening ingredient that’s derived from cellulose. And cellulose is a naturally occurring component found in the cell walls of plants. Its body-loving function? It forms a nourishing layer on your skin.
- Sodium Hyaluronate
- Your body naturally produces a compound called hyaluronic acid that can attract up to 1,000 times its weight in water and it plays a big role when it comes to keeping all kinds of cells hydrated and healthy. The commercial ingredient, made by fermenting sugar, isn’t very easily absorbed into the skin, so the magic (i.e. science) of chemistry steps in to help. Sodium hyaluronate is derived from hyaluronate and it’s a salt form that’s easier for your skin to soak up, so it can penetrate deeper into the skin where it attracts and holds water.

- Rice is one of the most ancient and valuable sources of nutrients in the world and is still a staple in the daily diet of over 3.5 billion people. Talk about a crowd pleaser. And it’s not only adaptable to innumerable recipes, it also takes many forms in cosmetics. Hydrolyzed Rice Protein is a water-soluble protein from rice bran that helps keep skin moisturized and helps with skin elasticity.
- Organic Oryza Sativa Extract
- Yet another gem from the humble grain of rice, oryza sativa extract helps condition and soften skin. How this one seemingly simple, plain plant can offer so many benefits in so many ways is challenging to comprehend. We’ll take it as inspiration. Never judge a book by its cover. And never underestimate the power of anything (or anyone – including you).

- Cannabis Sativa Flower (Hemp) Extract
- We think all of our ingredients are superstars (we wouldn’t use them if we didn’t), but our CBD shines brightest of all. It’s not just CBD, it’s full spectrum CBD extracted using the cold press method to keep the nutrients intact. What that means is you’re getting all the cannabinoids that naturally occur in the cannabis plant, resulting in what’s called the “entourage effect” – which refers to the increased impact of the oil due to the different cannabinoids working synergistically as nature intended. Teamwork makes the dream work :)
- Acacia Gum
- Acacia gum, extracted using a tapping process from acacia trees, has been used in cosmetics for thousands of years and its fans include Cleopatra and Queen Elizabeth I, who both reportedly used it in their historically notable lip colorings. For our purposes, it helps smooth and soften the skin and supports collagen and elastin. It may not go down in history, but that doesn’t mean you can’t.
- Quillaja Saponaria Bark Extract
- Quillaja Saponaria (aka ‘the soap bark tree’) is a tree whose inner bark can be broken down into a powder and used as a substitute for soap (thus, the name) because it creates a lather when mixed with water. It also has a long history of medicinal use with the Andean people in Chile where the tree originates. Today, the extract is used in skin care products as a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. And, like a true Giving Tree, the bark for the extract is typically obtained through regular pruning that actually improves the forest without killing the trees or damaging the ecosystem.
- Gluconolactone
- Gluconolactone belongs to a group of acids known as PHAs, poly-hydroxy acids and it’s naturally produced by the bodies of mammals. Commercially, it’s made from corn and is known as one of the gentlest exfoliators out there to help improve skin tone and texture and wipe out the dead cells that normally leave your complexion dull and lackluster (two words we don’t want anyone using to describe our skin or our personalities). Because of its molecular structure, it’s also a humectant – AKA an ingredient that attracts moisture to the skin.
- Sodium Benzoate
- Sodium Benzoate is a common preservative used in foods, beverages and care products that’s a great alternative to parabens and formaldehyde releasers. It's a salt of benzoic acid, a compound found in cranberries, plums, cinnamon, and apples.

- Yuzu essential oil has a distinctive citrus fragrance with a floral overtone which is refreshing and energizing. We enjoy using yuzu oil year round for aromatic revitalization.
- Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Oil
- Frankincense essential oil gets its name from the term “franc encens,” which means “high-quality incense” in French and it has been used for thousands of years – oftentimes in sacred places and religious rituals. Frankincense has an earthy, comforting, and uplifting aroma. Breathe it in and feel the soul-fulfilling feels.
- Lippia Javanica (Verbena) Oil

The essential oil has a fresh, lemony scent and if legend is correct, it might bring a little magic to your day.
- Cymbopogon Martinii Var. Sofia (Gingergrass) Oil
- Refreshing and citrusy and a little spicy, gingergrass essential oil has a complex scent that brings on feelings of inspiration and motivation. Let the aroma awaken your soul and then go be your best you.
- Citrus Aurantium (Neroli) Oil

Neroli oil comes from orange blossoms native to bitter orange trees in Italy and it does double duty in body care products – both promoting radiant skin and smelling amazing. The sweet, floral, honeyed, citrusy, green, and spicy fragrance is complicatedly intriguing and invitingly calming at the same time. Embrace that mood.
