- Glycerin
- Glycerin is a natural humectant, which means it hydrates skin while also attracting water from the environment to help retain moisture. Yep, a moisturizer that actually draws in and absorbs more moisture. Goodness creating more goodness. It’s a pretty great M.O.
- Aqua
- Agua, eau, wasser, paani, vand, tubig, water. No matter the language you speak, it makes up about 60% of your body – and 64% of your skin. It’s essential to all living things, so it inherently connects us. Lift a glass and toast to human-kindness.
- Sodium Lauroyl Oat Amino Acids
- Made from natural fatty acids and amino acids derived from oats, sodium lauroyl oat amino acids help clean and soothe skin. It’s a milder, kinder alternative to SLS and SLES.
- Coco Glucoside
- Derived from coconut and sugar, this ingredient functions as a mild cleanser and a mighty bubble-builder. Cleaning, foaming, lathering, and loving your skin.
- Cocamidopropyl Betaine
- This little beauty derived from coconuts creates a rich, thick lather. It’s also a surfactant which means it breaks the surface tension in water making it easier to grab dirt and rinse it away. Bubbles and brawn. Yin and yang.
- Glycolic Acid & Arginine
- Glycolic acid is a skincare superstar when it comes to exfoliation and kicking skin cell turnover into high gear – and it also increases the power of other active ingredients. (Such a team player!) All by itself, it can dry out skin and cause irritation, but when it combines forces with arginine, its powers are released more slowly, which helps reduce irritation and extend exfoliating benefits. Go team!
- Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract
- A true “medicine tree,” the use of willow bark dates all the way back to the days of Hippocrates (400 BC) when his patients chewed the bark to help with fevers and inflammation. It’s a natural source of salicin, which is chemically similar to aspirin (and actually served as the inspiration for its invention in the 1800s). Cosmetically, salicin is also similar to synthetic salicylic acid, promoting exfoliation and smoothing of the skin – without the irritation often associated with its synthetic counterpart. All the good. None of the bad.
- Lactobacillus Ferment
- Lactobacillus ferment is a form of probiotic, the sweetheart of health foods. You probably know that probiotics in your yogurt and kombucha can help balance your gut, but did you know it can also calm and comfort skin? We love ingredients that can help ignite your natural glow inside and out. True beauty comes from within.
- Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract
- Coconut fruit extract is the lesser known (but equally amazing) sister of coconut oil. The latter comes from the kernel of the coconut and the former from the meat (the white part we eat, which is vegan, but called “meat” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). It’s a highly absorbent, vitalizing, and nourishing extract, which means your skin drinks it up quickly and then revels in its benefits.
- Organic Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) Oil
- Known as “the tree of life” and “pharmacy tree” in Africa because of its many beneficial uses, the baobab tree’s seeds contain a silky, luxurious oil that’s a true skincare superhero. Baobab oil is packed with nourishing fatty acids and Vitamins A, D, E, and F which work in beautiful harmony to help soften, hydrate, moisturize, and rejuvenate skin. Plus, it absorbs easily, penetrates deeply, and doesn’t clog pores – making it a dream for all skin types. (Seriously, your skin is probably dreaming of it right now.)
- Organic Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oil
- Safflower oil is a popular cooking oil that’s also great for most skin types due to its light texture that makes it absorb quickly without leaving an oily film. Plus, it’s packed with beneficial fatty acids and antioxidants that fight free radicals, help prevent dryness and roughness, and promote a healthy glow. And who doesn’t want to glow?
- Organic Oryza Sativa Extract
- Yet another gem from the humble grain of rice, oryza sativa extract helps condition and soften skin. How this one seemingly simple, plain plant can offer so many benefits in so many ways is challenging to comprehend. We’ll take it as inspiration. Never judge a book by its cover. And never underestimate the power of anything (or anyone – including you).
- Ascophyllum Nodosum Extract
- Ascophyllum nodosum (aka Norwegian kelp) is a brown seaweed found in the cold waters of the North Atlantic that’s widely used for food, biotechnology, fertilizer, and (can you guess?) skincare. The extract of its tough, leathery fronds helps to gently soothe irritation and boost cell renewal. Such a caring kelp :)
- Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Extract
- Native to southern India and Southeast Asia, Sandalwood is revered for its fragrant and medicinal qualities by many cultures and also considered sacred in some religions. The central part of the tree, called the “heartwood,” is what’s used for its fragrance in body care products – and it does not disappoint. It’s all heart and soul.
- Squalane (Olive Derived)
- Squalane is a plant-based form of squalene, an oil that’s naturally created by your body to help lubricate and protect your skin. No surprise, it’s highly compatible with your skin and slips seamlessly into the spaces between cells to help smooth and moisturize. Plus, it’s very high in antioxidants to help repair your skin.
- Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6
- Polyacrylate crosspolymer-6 stabilizes and thickens water-based formulas and is especially good at creating gels that have a luxuriously slippery, non-sticky finish when applied to skin. It helps deliver all of the other ingredients in a way that’s far better than if they came alone. Let’s all be the person that strives to make everyone else better.
- Charcoal Powder
- Charcoal powder sounds like a hot mess, but it’s actually quite the opposite – an intense cleaner. It has a sponge-like structure with a ton of divots and holes creating a gigantic surface area that’s extremely effective at soaking up substances like dirt and oil and toxins. Turns out a lump of charcoal may not be the worst gift ever.
- Cannabis Sativa Flower (Hemp) Extract
- We think all of our ingredients are superstars (we wouldn’t use them if we didn’t), but our CBD shines brightest of all. It’s not just CBD, it’s full spectrum CBD extracted using the cold press method to keep the nutrients intact. What that means is you’re getting all the cannabinoids that naturally occur in the cannabis plant, resulting in what’s called the “entourage effect” – which refers to the increased impact of the oil due to the different cannabinoids working synergistically as nature intended. Teamwork makes the dream work :)
- Acacia Gum
- Acacia gum, extracted using a tapping process from acacia trees, has been used in cosmetics for thousands of years and its fans include Cleopatra and Queen Elizabeth I, who both reportedly used it in their historically notable lip colorings. For our purposes, it helps smooth and soften the skin and supports collagen and elastin. It may not go down in history, but that doesn’t mean you can’t.
- Quillaja Saponaria Bark Extract
- Quillaja Saponaria (aka ‘the soap bark tree’) is a tree whose inner bark can be broken down into a powder and used as a substitute for soap (thus, the name) because it creates a lather when mixed with water. It also has a long history of medicinal use with the Andean people in Chile where the tree originates. Today, the extract is used in skin care products as a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. And, like a true Giving Tree, the bark for the extract is typically obtained through regular pruning that actually improves the forest without killing the trees or damaging the ecosystem.
- Gluconolactone
- Gluconolactone belongs to a group of acids known as PHAs, poly-hydroxy acids and it’s naturally produced by the bodies of mammals. Commercially, it’s made from corn and is known as one of the gentlest exfoliators out there to help improve skin tone and texture and wipe out the dead cells that normally leave your complexion dull and lackluster (two words we don’t want anyone using to describe our skin or our personalities). Because of its molecular structure, it’s also a humectant – AKA an ingredient that attracts moisture to the skin.
- Sodium Benzoate
- Sodium Benzoate is a common preservative used in foods, beverages and care products that’s a great alternative to parabens and formaldehyde releasers. It's a salt of benzoic acid, a compound found in cranberries, plums, cinnamon, and apples.
- Ethylhexylglycerin
- Ethylhexylglycerin is a plant-derived preservative (killing risky pathogens) that also functions as a surfactant (cleanser), a deodorizing agent (inhibiting the growth of stinky bacteria), and a skin-conditioning (hydrating, softening) agent in personal care products. It can also reduce tackiness and greasiness, as well as increase speed of penetration. It’s a real overachiever – and there’s nothing wrong with that (as long as you also practice self-care).
- Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Oil
- Frankincense essential oil gets its name from the term “franc encens,” which means “high-quality incense” in French and it has been used for thousands of years – oftentimes in sacred places and religious rituals. Frankincense has an earthy, comforting, and uplifting aroma. Breathe it in and feel the soul-fulfilling feels.
- Citrus Junos (Yuzu) Oil
- Yuzu essential oil has a distinctive citrus fragrance with a floral overtone which is refreshing and energizing. Traditionally, the fruits were used in Japan on the day of the winter solstice in a hot bath to ward off winter ills and instill a sense of wellbeing. We enjoy using yuzu oil year round for aromatic revitalization.
- Cymbopogon Martinii Var. Sofia (Gingergrass) Oil
- Refreshing and citrusy and a little spicy, gingergrass essential oil has a complex scent that brings on feelings of inspiration and motivation. Let the aroma awaken your soul and then go be your best you.
- Lippia Javanica (Verbena) Oil
- Verbena has a long history of being associated with divine and supernatural forces – like warding off evil in the Middle Ages and promoting beneficial visions in the Shawnee tribal tradition. The essential oil has a fresh, lemony scent and if legend is correct, it might bring a little magic to your day.
- Citrus Aurantium (Neroli) Oil
-
Neroli oil comes from orange blossoms native to bitter orange trees in Italy and it does double duty in body care products – both promoting radiant skin and smelling amazing. The sweet, floral, honeyed, citrusy, green, and spicy fragrance is complicatedly intriguing and invitingly calming at the same time. Embrace that mood.

Farheen J –
This gets rid of all my makeup/sweat/whatever else on the first wash! It literally leaves my face feeling so clean and fresh without feeling dry. This cleanser has such incredible ingredients so I know it’s also working wonders for my skin
Lucy G –
I’ve had trouble with my skin for as long as I can remember and this is the first cleansing product that my skin has ever tolerated. Usually I feel the need to rinse my face 5 or 6 times a day but with this my skin feels clean, refreshed all day without making it dry. Visibly, my skin is unlikely to ever improve but I cannot put a price on how much better I feel in my own skin since I started using this.
