Top 5 CBD Myths | NTY Blog
Did you know that today is National CBD Day here in the states?
Did you also know that we at NTY CBD Skincare are experts in all things CBD skincare and are about to drop some knowledge? In honor of one of our favorite holidays, we thought it’d be fun to spill some CBD tea and cover some of the crazy myths surrounding the superstar ingredient.
Check out our Top 5 CBD Myths below:
Myth 1: It’s going to get you high
Probably the most common myth out there and honestly, one of the funniest. Though derived from the same plant as THC, CBD will not get you high. When applied topically, CBD binds to the body’s local endocannabinoid receptors and works ONLY where applied. Since the molecule size is so large, it does not (and physically can’t) absorb into your bloodstream and bind to receptors in your brain (aka get you high).
Myth 2: All it does is calm skin down
Wrong! It does SOOO much more than just calm skin down. While yes, its anti-inflammatory properties are amazing for helping get skin back to a happier state, it’s a powerful antioxidant and skin-balancer. CBD helps fight off harmful environment stressors like free radicals that can prematurely age the skin and lead to more chronic inflammatory conditions.
Myth 3: You can’t use it with “active” skincare ingredients
Well that wouldn’t be much fun if it were true, right? It’s actually quite the opposite - CBD is an amazing partner ingredient to your favorite actives like Vitamin C, Glycolic Acid and Niacinamide. For those who are more sensitive to these types of ingredients it not only helps you simultaneously soothe your skin while they get to work, CBD keeps skin calm and balanced allowing them to produce better results. Think of CBD like an actives booster!
Myth 4: All CBD skincare is created the same
Myth 5: CBDa isn’t really that different from CBD
