The Benefits of CBDa : The Superstar Cannabinoid | NTY Blog - No, thank you

Alright, so you hear us talking about CBDa benefits non-stop, and we figured it would be best to provide you with a cheat sheet of sorts.

Let’s break down what it is, why your skin and body will love it, and why it’s an absolute must in any daily skincare or body care routine.

What is CBDa?

CBDa stands for Cannabidiolic Acid which is the main phytocannabinoid found in the Cannabis Sativa Plant.

What’s cool about this ingredient is that it’s actually the precursor to another cannabinoid that you’re likely more familiar with: CBD. Through a process called decarboxylation (AKA a molecular change that happens when cannabis is exposed to heat), CBDa transforms into CBD!

The process in which it’s extracted is pretty complex and expensive, which is why you don’t see it highlighted or marketed as often as CBD in other skincare or bodycare products.

Fun fact: No, Thank You only uses full-spectrum CBD oil, that is rich in CBDa, for the best CBD skin care possible. This is WAY different from broad-spectrum CBD products you’re seeing on most shelves.

To learn more about that, check out our previous blog where we dive deeper into CBD and all its full-spectrum CBD oil benefits for the skin and body.

Why is CBDa so effective?

The human body has something called the endocannabinoid system, a huge network of receptors that runs throughout the brain and your entire body. The main function of the “ECS” is to help regulate a multitude of processes like metabolism, memory, stress and yes, even response to inflammation

While CBDa doesn’t bind directly to CB1 receptors (aka cannabinoid receptors) like THC does to give you that euphoric feeling, it still plays nicely with the overall endocannabinoid system. Instead, it focuses on and acts as an inhibitor to a particular enzyme known as COX-2 – a major culprit when it comes to inflammation. Hello, anti-inflammatory benefits!

CBDa is so potent that it’s appeared as a major cancer cell inhibitor in breast cancer treatment trials, and some studies suggest that it can outperform CBD by 1,000x when it comes to specific benefits!

Can you see why we love it so much?
